A collection of images gathered from news media, stock photography, and other published sources, each depicting a yellow card presented during a different soccer match. Cropped to isolate only the referee’s hand and card, the images are removed from their original action and context.
By placing these moments of warning from different games side by side, individual acts of judgment become a continuous visual language. Presented from multiple directions, the yellow cards seem to surround the viewer from 360 degrees—as if the warning is no longer directed at a player on the field, but at us. Through repetition, the familiar gesture evokes warning, judgment, and the public exercise of authority.
ニュースメディア、ストックフォト、その他の公刊された資料から収集した、異なるサッカーの試合で提示されたイエローカードのイメージによって構成された作品です。それぞれの画像は、審判の手とカードだけが残るように切り取られ、試合の展開や周囲の状況といった本来の文脈は取り除かれています。
異なる試合、異なる場所で発せられた警告の瞬間を並列することで、個々の判定だったはずのジェスチャーはひとつの連続した視覚言語へと変化します。あらゆる方向から差し出される黄色いカードは、まるで360度周囲から、鑑賞者である**「私たち」自身に警告を発している**かのようにも見えます。そこには、警告、判断、そして公に行使される権威という意味が浮かび上がります。
